Finally solved my picture problems, here's some photos from Munich on Monday.
This is Marienplatz, or Mary's Plaza (for the Virgin Mary). There's a large church and statue, but mostly the platz is shopping & dining:

This is the gold-plated statue of Mary in Marientplatz. If you click the picture (like all of the pictures in the blog) you can zoom in and get more detail.

Here's the church; it has a famous animated clock ("glockenspiel") but it's under repair right now...

This is the pedestrian walkway connecting Marienplatz to Karlsplatz (not Ersatzplatz):

Here's the Chico Bavarian Band playing in the platz, they got a good crowd (including a reporter from Australia filming some local color). People had trouble believing they were from the US.

The guys walking around in their band costumes attracted some attention, but again everybody assumed they were Bavarian. The kids posing with them here were from Frankfurt...

Here's the Munich Hofbrauhaus:

Here are Brandee & Tessa, two of the girls traveling with the band in their dirndls. Dirndl's? Dirndles?

This is the stage in the Hofbrauhaus Munich with the entertainment:

Here's Erica & Andrew standing on their chairs doing the chicken dance (did you ever wonder where it came from? Now you know!)

Bob is having fun...

This was the Maggiora's last night with everybody together; on Tuesday Andrew went back to San Diego State, and Steve went off to party for a few days with a younger crowd...
